A new generic-industryjoint venturelinking New Jersey?based Amneal Pharmaceuticalsand India?sIndoco Remedieswill result in themarketing of at least10 generic ophthalmic products in the United States.

Amneal?s role in the partnership will be to prepare andfile abbreviated new drug applications for FDA approvaland to exclusively market these products throughout theUS pharmaceutical market. Indoco will be responsible formanufacturing the generics. Spokesmen for the 2 companiessaid that Indoco and Amneal have already begun toidentify several more ophthalmic products to pursue, aswell as other therapeutic categories and dosage forms.
