CIVELLO EARNS HERO RECOGNITION

Tony Civello, chairman, president, andchief executive officer of Kerr Drug, hasa new title—Health Care Hero. Civelloreceived the recognition from theTriangle Business Journal for his contributionsto the quality of health care inthe community. The journal said thatCivello has "demonstrated leadership inthe drug store industry and strives to beproactive, rather than reactive, believing that chain drug retailingis all about health care."

"But this award alsorecognizes the efforts of the entire team of Kerr Drug professionalswho all strive to provide the highest quality of healthcare."Civello, who got his start in chain drug retailing at ThriftDrug in 1965, has spent the last 2 years chairing the NationalAssociation of Chain Drug Stores.
