A recent warning issued by the FDA cautions health care providers regarding a potential interaction between lowdose aspirin and ibuprofen. Ex vivo studies have shown that ibuprofen interferes with the antiplatelet effects of aspirin (81 mg immediate-release). This interaction appears to be most significant when ibuprofen is taken within 30 minutes after taking aspirin. The FDA states in the warning:
