Visual Diagnostic Tool Improves Patient Care
Thomson Micromedex has partnered with LogicalImages to provide hospitals and health careorganizations with access to VisualDx—a point-of-care clinical decision support software systemfor visual diagnosis. The system is an easy-to-usevisual differential diagnostic tool that reduces therisk for medical errors concerning conditions withvisual signs and symptoms.VisualDx is used at thepoint of care for a more accurate diagnosis. Theresult is faster and enhanced treatment decisionsand improved clinical outcomes.
Prior to VisualDx, primary care and emergencyphysicians had to know the name of the diagnosisin order to access photographs, symptomatology,and treatment information, using textbooksand Web-based atlases. Now, clinicians simplyenter a patient's symptoms and compare whatthey are seeing with the symptoms' images anddata on each disease, similar to those found inreference books and other information guides.
