A study conducted by the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA determined that one third of obese men with erectile dysfunction (ED) were able to regain proper sexual functioning after weight loss. According to a recent JAMAarticle, men who increased their level of exercise, from an average of 48 minutes per week to 3 hours per week, and adopted a low-calorie diet were able to reverse their ED without medication.
Experts have agreed that the same risk factors associated with heart disease are associated with ED. The lifestyle changes that this study suggests as ways to treat ED may mean that taking medication is not the only solution for men with ED.
