Laughter may not be the best medicine for children with asthma, a new study has shown. A review of all children presenting to an emergency department for an asthma attack during a 6-month period showed that laughter is more likely to cause an asthma attack than is exercise or air pollution. In fact, almost 33% of asthma attacks in these children were triggered by laughter. The study investigators believe that laughter-induced asthma attacks can be avoided if a child?s asthma is managed properly.
