ASHP Announces All-Virtual Midyear Meeting

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has announced that the 2020 Midyear Meeting, scheduled to be held December 6-10, 2020, will be entirely virtual.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has announced that the 2020 Midyear Meeting, scheduled to be held December 6-10, 2020, will be entirely virtual due to ongoing concerns about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and preventive safety measures.1

According to ASHP, in a video announcing the change to a virtual format, the conference will offer all of the same opportunities as past meetings, including educational opportunities, networking, poster sessions, the residency showcase, personnel placement services, and exhibits.2

“In these unprecedented times we must remain nimble, innovative, relevant, dynamic, and unstoppable,” a spokesperson said in the video.2

Although the association is still working on organizing the details, registration is anticipated to go live in late summer or early fall. A web page with frequently asked questions said the full registration fee will be discounted for members, compared to previous Midyear meetings’ fees, and only full registration options will be available.1

Members of the Educational Services Division will be contacting presenters and those who had submitted posters for presentation in order to discuss the new format, according to ASHP.1
