Next-Generation Pharmacist™ Program Will RecognizeTop Pharmacists
New program from Pharmacy Times and Parata Systems will honor leaders and innovators in pharmacy.
PLAINSBORO, NJ (April 13, 2010)—Pharmacists play an increasingly important role in the delivery of health care to millions of patients. The most innovative members of the profession will now be honored by a new awards program from Pharmacy Times and Parata Systems—The Next-Generation Pharmacist™ Program. Nominations for this prestigious awards program are now open at www.nextgenerationpharmacist.org.
Awards will be presented to winning nominees in 10 categories:
From among the 10 category winners, Pharmacy Times and Parata will select the inaugural “Next-Generation Pharmacist,” the highest award. Finalists will be profiled in Pharmacy Times and honored at an awards dinner on October 25, 2010, in Philadelphia, PA, during the National Community Pharmacists Association Annual Convention and Trade Exhibition.
Pharmacy Times is published monthly by Intellisphere, LLC, a division of MJH & Associates. “These brand-new awards offer pharmacists a unique opportunity to gain the recognition they deserve for outstanding contributions, while boosting the visibility of their pharmacies in the industry and in their communities,” said Mike Hennessy, Chairman and CEO of MJH & Associates.
The second component to the program, the Next-Generation Pharmacist Profile, will highlight the current state and future vision of the field of pharmacy. This research program will explore where pharmacists see the profession heading, follow trends likely to emerge in the near future, and identify the qualities and values of those at the forefront of the industry. The Next-Generation Pharmacist Profile’s findings will be published in Pharmacy Times.
“We look forward to shining a rare spotlight on the best of the best in the profession,” said Fred Eckel, RPh, MS, and Editor-in-Chief of Pharmacy Times. “This kind of recognition for pharmacists is long overdue.”
