Before he played the brawny superhero Thor in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Chris Hemsworth worked at a pharmacy to pay his bills.
The Australian actor told The Express Tribune that one of his tasks entailed cleaning breast pumps. The pharmacy allowed pregnant women to rent milk extractors, and Hemsworth was asked to sterilize them after they were returned.
“I swear to God I had a toothbrush and a spray, and I would scrub dried milk off the machines,” he said.
While Hemsworth’s pharmacy history is a far cry from those who actually studied pharmacy and practiced behind the counter, the actor joins a community of celebrities with ties to pharmacy, such as author Agatha Christie, US Vice President Hubert Humphrey, and Coca-Cola inventor John Pemberton.
Hemsworth is now filming the Snow White prequel, The Huntsman, which is due out in 2016.
