Pharmacy Times and Specialty Pharmacy Times Kick Off #APharmacistIs Social Media Campaign

Even beyond American Pharmacists Month, pharmacists deserve to be recognized for the important role they play in patient care.

As a part of the continuing effort to increase awareness and celebrate the pharmacy profession, Pharmacy Times and Specialty Pharmacy Times are partnering to launch the #APharmacistIs campaign starting November 1, 2017.

During the campaign, pharmacists will be recognized for their important roles in health care as medication experts, insurance navigators, education enthusiasts, and more.

Pharmacists will also be able to show a different side of themselves they may not be able to convey on a daily basis. The goal is to educate patients and other healthcare professionals that pharmacists are more than just people who dispense medication.

The campaign encourages pharmacists to share photos and videos on social media using #APharmacistIs.

We ask that pharmacists share photographs of them doing something they love, such as running, reading, or any other fun activity. Videos should include a few words about what a pharmacist is to them, starting with the words “A Pharmacist Is…”

While we encourage the use of #APharamcistIs on social media, email submissions can also be made to Laurie Toich (ltoich@specialtypharmacytimes).

At the end of the campaign, photos and videos submitted through the hashtag or via email will be compiled to create a video that will highlight the many aspects involved with being a pharmacist. The final video will be shared on our websites and social media channels.

The #APharmacistIs campaign is a part of the ongoing efforts by Pharmacy Times and Specialty Pharmacy Times to recognize the significant impact of pharmacists on advancing the healthcare industry.
