A man accused of robbery allegedly took off from an Arizona pharmacy with narcotics and then started to ingest the pills when police later confronted him.

Police said Hunter James Dolan, 27, of Gilbert, Arizona, entered an Albertson’s pharmacy in April 2016 with a gun, ABC15 reported.

Dolan allegedly demanded prescription narcotics from a pharmacist and technician on staff. However, the pharmacy employees recognized Dolan as a regular customer and gave police his photo and more information about his identity, according to ABC15.

Police found Dolan in his car about 2 miles away from the pharmacy, and a BB gun was found in between his seats.

When Dolan was asked to step out of the car, he apparently starting swallowing the pills, police told ABC15. Officers removed the man from the car, and medical personnel went to work on treating him for the pill ingestion.

Dolan, who was released from the hospital 2 days after the incident, was arrested and now faces charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
