RESEARCH VALIDATES RETAIL CLINICS
New research sponsored by the Centers forDisease Control and Prevention (CDC) touts the benefitsof retail clinics in helping improve employeehealth while cutting health care costs.
Although the traditional health care delivery systemhas been effective at handling complex cases,retail clinics may be better suited to the well-organizeddelivery of preventive care that patients needmore regularly to maintain their health and well-being.
Bradley Perkins, chief strategy and innovation officer for the CDC, said that preventivemeasures such as smoking cessation, adult immunization, and screening forchronic conditions were all deemed to have cost-saving benefits.
