The Consumer Health EducationCenter's (CHEC's) educational campaign,the Doctor in the House, recognizeswomen as the health care decisionmakers (71% of US households)and main buyers of OTC medications(73%). Launched by the ConsumerHealthcare Products Association, CHEC'sresearch found that patients can benefitfrom a better understanding of OTCsafety, specifically the important informationon Drug Facts labels regardingside effects, active ingredients, anddrug interactions.
The Doctor in the House campaignincludes an educational brochure Over-the-Counter Medicines: Keeping You andYour Family Healthy.
